About Rental Assistance Program
At the onset of the Settlement Agreement, Virginia’s General Assembly had appropriated $800,000 for an initial fund for housing assistance. The Rental Choice VA housing assistance initiative was piloted through this fund. The Commonwealth now provides State Rental Assistance Program (SRAP) funds for ongoing support of independent housing needs.
In his December 2017 Report to the Court, the Independent Reviewer found the Commonwealth’s response to this provision to be complete.
